        These are rough guesses of common charges, the same for every rental, not sourced averages and not taxed here. Tolls themselves are extra: type them as an extra amount yourself if you know them. The average price may already include taxes and airport fees, so tick Airport fee only if your price leaves it out. Turo also charges its own protection plan and a young driver fee of at least $30 a day (under 25); check the Turo checkout.

        Watch for these rental fees
        • Photograph the car all the way around, plus the fuel gauge and odometer, before you drive off and again when you return it.
        • Return it with the fuel level the contract asks for and keep the refuel receipt. A refill done by the company costs far more than the pump.
        • Check whether you are paying now or at pickup, and what the counter adds (taxes, airport fees, the insurance upsell).
        • Read the rules on cleaning, smoking, pets, mileage limits and late return.
        • Tolls: the company bills a daily program fee on top of the tolls. Bring your own transponder or pay cash if you can. Those bills can arrive weeks after you return the car.
        • Check the cover you already have (your own policy or credit card) before paying for a waiver.
        • Keep your return receipt or closed contract, and check your card statement afterwards. Turo refunds its deposit 80 hours after the trip if nothing is reported.
